Lisa Guliano Named Erie DD Superintendent

Lisa GulianoSANDUSKY, Ohio (July, 16, 2010) – Lisa Guliano was named superintendent of the Erie County Board of Developmental Disabilities at Thursday's board meeting.

She will assume her new responsibilities Aug. 9.

Guliano replaces Jerry Plassenthal, who retired in March.

Guliano, 47, brings ten years of experience in the field of developmental disabilities to the position. She is currently director of finance for the Richland County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

Rights of Persons With a Developmental Disability

5123.62 Rights of persons with mental retardation or a developmental disability.

The rights of persons with mental retardation or a developmental disability include, but are not limited to, the following:

(A) The right to be treated at all times with courtesy and respect and with full recognition of their dignity and individuality;

(B) The right to an appropriate, safe, and sanitary living environment that complies with local, state, and federal standards and recognizes the persons’ need for privacy and independence;

(C) The right to food adequate to meet accepted standards of nutrition;
